Our History

The Association was established in 1989 to provide the necessary rented and low- cost home ownership housing options previously provided by Clackmannanshire Council.

Its area of operation covered that defined by the local authority boundary of Clackmannanshire Council although this subsequently changed in 1997 with the acquisition of properties in West Fife.

In January 1998 the Association acquired 584 properties in Tullibody from the former national housing agency Scottish Homes. Since then the Association has continued to grow through new build developments.

In 1999 the Association acquired its current office premises at Ochil House, Marshill Alloa.

In 2001 we achieved our very first Investors in People accreditation.

In 2002 the Association achieved its charitable status.

In 2009 we completed our first shared equity project at The Glen Coalsnaughton.

In 2010 we celebrated our 21st Anniversary and launched the Strath For Housing Alliance.

In 2011 an independent tenant satisfaction survey confirms 86% satisfaction with our services provided.

In 2012 concluded our first Mortgage to Rent property acquisition.

In 2013 introduced Customer Service focussed staff structure.  We were awarded Investors in People Silver status and awarded the Mental Health Commendation as part of the Healthy Working Lives initiative.  Independent tenant satisfaction survey confirmed 91% satisfaction with services provided and we were appointed Managing Agents for NHT 2 partnership mid-market rent project at The Glen, Coalsnaughton.  Completion of 24 property development at Kippen Place, Sauchie; Introduced a new tenancy sustainment advice and information service to tenants; Appointed Managing Agents for NHT 2 partnership mid-market rent project at The Glen (Nechtan Drive), Coalsnaughton.

In 2014 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary Year; Customer Service focussed staff structure reviewed; Implemented new Committee Appraisal and Development Procedure; Implemented new Rules based on SFHA Model 2013; Submitted first Annual Return on the Charter (ARC); Introduced a formal Committee Recruitment Policy.

In 2015 we reviewed “Strategic Direction”; Approved a Residential Property Acquisition Strategy; Commenced major Review of Reactive Maintenance Service; Undertook a major Review of Legal Services; Customer Satisfaction Survey 2016: Process Commenced.

In 2016 we were awarded Investors in People Gold Status and retained our Healthy Working Lives Gold award.  We also signed a collaborative partnership with Kingdom Housing Association and recommenced our "Development Programme".

In 2017 we appointed a new Reactive Maintenance Contractor and a new Gas Servicing Contractor.

2018 saw us achieve a site start date for a new build development at Millers Lade Avenue in Sauchie (Phase 2) and we completed an options appraisal for the 6 bedsits at 20 Mar Street, Alloa.  We also became a Living Wage employer.

2019 we celebrate our 30th Anniversary year.   We also completed 11 units at a new build housing development at Millers Lade Avenue in Sauchie.

We retained our Investors in People Gold accreditation and our Healthy Working Lives Gold accreditation.  We participated in a "Career Ready" programme and provided an internship opportunity to two local school pupils.

We allocated our 1400th home at Millers Lade Avenue, Sauchie.

2020 was the year of the Covid-19 pandemic and our offices closed and staff worked a lot of the year from home.  Services and contracts were suspended, resumed and suspended again.

We retained our Investors in Fold accrediation.

2021 has seen the introduction of a tenant portal.
