Our Properties

At 31st December 2006, the Association owned 1,181 rented properties with a further 32 under shared ownership, situated throughout Clackmannanshire and West Fife. These consist of:

  • new build housing constructed as part of the Association’s annual capital programme and resources secured from Communities Scotland
  • a transfer of housing and land from Blairoak Valley Housing Association in 1997
  • a large scale voluntary transfer of properties as part of Scottish Homes stock disposal programme in 1998.

Of the Association’s rented housing, 7 are 1apt, 340 are 2apt, 455 are 3apt, 359 are 4apt and 20 are 5apt or larger with 70% being general family housing, 28% medium dependency (amenity housing for the elderly) and 2% specifically designed for wheelchair use.

In terms of demand, the Association has a consistent housing list of over 1000 applicants and, with turnover rates of on average 10% per annum, this means that there are approximately 10 applicants for every property which becomes available.

The Association continues to add to its housing stock through new build development activity and plans exist for additional developments in Alloa, Tullibody, Coalsnaughton, High Valleyfield and Oakley which will result in approximately 200 additional new units over the period 2007 – 2010.

This will, however, be partly offset by Right to Buy sales in our transferred stock which average 11 sales each year.
