Ochil View Welcomes Success of Income Maximisation Service
Mr Spence from Delphwood Crescent, Tullibody is delighted with his new freezer from the Scottish and Southern Energy Appliance Scheme and the service from Ochil View’s Income Maximisation Officer, Margaret Gallagher. Taking delivery of his replacement freezer, Mr Spence said this is a brilliant scheme, especially at a time when replacing white goods can be such a hardship for many families, and it was hassle free.
My wife and I knew or had heard nothing about this scheme, until we met with Margaret the Income Maximisation Officer with Ochil View Housing Association. Margaret advised us of the scheme, helped us fill in the paperwork and shortly after we received a phone call confirming the order for our new freezer and the next day a call to arrange delivery. The freezer was delivered on time and the old one taken away. The new freezer will benefit us with reduced fuel bills and has also allowed us to improve our carbon footprint in the process.
This and other help we have received from Margaret has been invaluable and I would encourage other residents to speak to Margaret and check you are receiving all the help and benefits you are entitled to.
Also benefitting from the Appliance Scheme were Maria Goncavles and Alexandre Pereira from Weavers Way in Tillicoultry. They are in receipt of Pension Credit and got a fridge freezer as their old one was defective and over 10 years old.
They said "the people from the SSE free appliance scheme were very polite and caring from the first contact call to the delivery of our new Fridge freezer. The service that Margaret Gallagher offers at Ochil View Association is fantastic and extremely helpful ... one moment I was having my Welfare Rights looked at and the next I had a fridge freezer delivered. Well done Ochil View keep this great service up".
In the three months it has been operational, Ochil View’s Income Maximisation Service has gathered nearly £50,000 for tenants.
